From the reviews
One of the coolest homes I've seen. I love the "castle like" design on the outside. And the neighborhood it's in is gorgeous. Very cool history in the house between the two main families as well as how it transformed from a family home into a museum of sorts.
Beautiful Richardson Romanesque home in the heart of Old Louisville. Tours are roughly 70 minutes long, and they proceed through all three levels of the house. Though the stately staircase on the first floor was the highlight, all of the other rooms were elaborately decorated with many of the original furnishings (and…
Very cool, historic mansion right outside of downtown Louisville. The neighborhood itself is worth checking out. Amazing architecture, inside and out. The folks who volunteer are very friendly and will answer any questions you have. You could spend 30 minutes, or a couple of hours here, depending on your interest.
What a gem! My girlfriend and I enjoyed the spacious guided home tour both in the wealth of historical information shared and interior design amazement. No AAA discount and the highest admission we’ve found from our home tours ($20 per person), but definitely worth it overall.
Getting married at Conrad-Caldwell House Museum
A castle wedding is the once-in-a-lifetime, storybook kind — the grand staircase, the ballroom, the gardens and turrets your photos will live on forever. Castle weddings commonly run $10,000–$40,000+ depending on the date, guest count, and how much is included, so ask for a written quote for your season — Conrad-Caldwell House Museum doesn’t publish a set price, and tiers move fast. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you’d actually get married — a ballroom that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you’ll want to walk the path your guests take from the gates to the ceremony to the reception. Second, bring your real questions: what’s included with the venue fee (tables, chairs, setup, teardown), the catering and bar policy, whether you can stay overnight on-site, the rain plan for a garden ceremony, and the music curfew. Fairytale dates at castle venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what’s open in your season before you leave.
