From the reviews
Absolutely stunning scenery from this point. The construction of the castle is very interesting and artistic as well. Be sure to visit the million-dollar Biffy next door. The story about this location and its architectural buildings is interesting. It is a lot of fun for kids of all ages.
It is well worth short drive on unpaved roads to check out The Castle. It is the largest and most complex picnic shelter in Guernsey State Park. Although the shelter looks like a stronghold, it is easily accessible.
It's a wonderful scenic drive to get up to the point of "The Castle" . There are some gravel roads you have to traverse to get there but really not that bad compared to some we had driven earlier in the week. Beautiful scenery. I would recommend taking time to walk some of the trails and look around.
Really cool castle looking public rest area/ picnic area. The views are sublime 😍. My granddaughters were a little skeptical about the trip, but they were very excited after we arrived. The CCC museum in the area is worth the effort. This is in a fee area. $7 per day for Wyoming residents.
Getting married at The Castle
A castle wedding is the once-in-a-lifetime, storybook kind — the grand staircase, the ballroom, the gardens and turrets your photos will live on forever. Castle weddings commonly run $10,000–$40,000+ depending on the date, guest count, and how much is included, so ask for a written quote for your season — The Castle doesn’t publish a set price, and tiers move fast. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you’d actually get married — a ballroom that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you’ll want to walk the path your guests take from the gates to the ceremony to the reception. Second, bring your real questions: what’s included with the venue fee (tables, chairs, setup, teardown), the catering and bar policy, whether you can stay overnight on-site, the rain plan for a garden ceremony, and the music curfew. Fairytale dates at castle venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what’s open in your season before you leave.
