Architecture is beautiful to admire, but without context, so much goes unsaid. Our tour was led by John Thum, who I believe was a volunteer and a friend of Michael Rubel and his storytelling made all the difference.
Today was my first time here at the castle and it was truly a great experience. Our docent Hanz did a fantastic job showing us around the property and teaching us all about the life and accomplishments of Rubel, who he knew personally before his passing in 2007.
Ruble Castle is a hidden gem in Glendora. It’s definitely worth supporting to see the crazy castle and get a tour experiencing the wild and artistic mindset of a man who loves to build. Very interesting story and wild and eclectic homestead in Glendora!
I took a tour of the Rubel Castle today. It took me and my wife about 2 hours to see everything. Tons of history here. I highly recommend it.
