From the reviews
Husband and I went to tour the castle as they had announced they would have this service available on this day. Tour took about a half an hour and our guide was very friendly. It is a striking thing to come upon a castle in the middle of an Illinois field.
Overall good stay. One night only. Almost there but not quite compared to amenities at a hotel but I would recommend staying here if you wanted to experience staying in a castle on top a hill. Photos turned out nice! The breakfast was good.
Creative bed and breakfast. Well dressed in its castle theme. Items were very nice and made you feel that you should take care with them. This was the first bed and breakfast I stayed in, so it was a different experience. There is no internet or TV in the rooms. Many friendly cats in the household.
We really enjoyed our stay at RavenStone Castle. We stayed in the Unicorn room which was really nice. Large room with a nice view and jacuzzi tube. Breakfast was light and fresh, it hit the spot. The owners are super nice and very welcoming. The town of Harvard is cool to cruise around in and has nice places to eat.
Getting married at RavenStone Castle
A castle wedding is the once-in-a-lifetime, storybook kind — the grand staircase, the ballroom, the gardens and turrets your photos will live on forever. Castle weddings commonly run $10,000–$40,000+ depending on the date, guest count, and how much is included, so ask for a written quote for your season — RavenStone Castle doesn’t publish a set price, and tiers move fast. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you’d actually get married — a ballroom that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you’ll want to walk the path your guests take from the gates to the ceremony to the reception. Second, bring your real questions: what’s included with the venue fee (tables, chairs, setup, teardown), the catering and bar policy, whether you can stay overnight on-site, the rain plan for a garden ceremony, and the music curfew. Fairytale dates at castle venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what’s open in your season before you leave.
Galas & corporate events at RavenStone Castle
Reviews and the castle's own info mention galas, corporate events, or private parties at RavenStone Castle — castle venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
