From the reviews
This year, for our 20th wedding anniversary, we wanted a special place to celebrate while vacationing in San Francisco—somewhere romantic yet family-friendly. After reading many reviews, we chose the Palace Hotel. I am so happy with our decision!
My husband and I just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We chose the Palace Hotel to be part of the celebration. The service was very good. The hotel is beautiful and has so much history. It felt grand. I was asked when making the celebration if we were celebrating anything special in the Bonvoy app.
The palace hotel was a truly remarkable experience. The sophistication and beauty upon walking into the property was outstanding. The service stood out and I felt welcomed, accommodated and appreciated to be a guest here. The amenities were solid, nothing stood out but a great pool and gym for a weekend hotel stay.
This hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are a little small, but if you’ve traveled in Europe, they actually feel better than average. For us, the size was totally fine, and the high ceilings made the room feel more open. The hotel is historic, and you can absolutely tell in the best way.
Getting married at Palace Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Francisco
A castle wedding is the once-in-a-lifetime, storybook kind — the grand staircase, the ballroom, the gardens and turrets your photos will live on forever. Castle weddings commonly run $10,000–$40,000+ depending on the date, guest count, and how much is included, so ask for a written quote for your season — Palace Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Francisco doesn’t publish a set price, and tiers move fast. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you’d actually get married — a ballroom that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you’ll want to walk the path your guests take from the gates to the ceremony to the reception. Second, bring your real questions: what’s included with the venue fee (tables, chairs, setup, teardown), the catering and bar policy, whether you can stay overnight on-site, the rain plan for a garden ceremony, and the music curfew. Fairytale dates at castle venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what’s open in your season before you leave.
