In the 1960s I spent my summers in the nearby area and watched an elderly gentleman who didnt speak much english haul buckets of stone from the nearby lakeshore and then mix up cement to repair or update this "castle". We used to drive by after church and a visit to local A&W in Lexington just to check progress.
We stumbled upon this hidden gem and it was the highlight of our trip. Gloria and Bob were kind enough to welcome us in and give us a tour of the stone house. It was fascinating to learn the history of Gloria's family and see the detailed work that was put in to the house so long ago.
I live around the corner from the place and is so cool from the outside, have not been inside yet
Definitely a bit of history on the lake! A must see for anyone coming up this way.
