From the reviews

Margaret is very knowledgeable and provided my daughter and I a nice history of the castles. She was kind enough to go over some history before they even opened up for the self guided tours. They were available for any questions we had. Some nice activities for my daughter and I to do as well.

I can't recommend the Mac-O-Chee Castle enough as a wedding venue! Throughout the entire wedding planning process we were blown away by the whole teams effort to review every possible detail needed to consider for our big day.

Our daughter and son in law were married at the castle mid July . I cannot say enough great things about this venue, the owners and staff! I would give 10 stars if I could! The communication throughout the process was consistent and helpful.

★★★★★ — Lori, Jul 2025

This place was amazing. Loved seeing all of the old architecture and being able to walk through all of the rooms really takes you back to how people once lived. Sad that it is in need of repair. They said they are selling the castle in the fall so if you haven’t had a chance to see this piece of history hurry!

Getting married at Mac-O-Chee Castle

A castle wedding is the once-in-a-lifetime, storybook kind — the grand staircase, the ballroom, the gardens and turrets your photos will live on forever. Castle weddings commonly run $10,000–$40,000+ depending on the date, guest count, and how much is included, so ask for a written quote for your season — Mac-O-Chee Castle doesn’t publish a set price, and tiers move fast. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you’d actually get married — a ballroom that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you’ll want to walk the path your guests take from the gates to the ceremony to the reception. Second, bring your real questions: what’s included with the venue fee (tables, chairs, setup, teardown), the catering and bar policy, whether you can stay overnight on-site, the rain plan for a garden ceremony, and the music curfew. Fairytale dates at castle venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what’s open in your season before you leave.

Galas & corporate events at Mac-O-Chee Castle

Reviews and the castle's own info mention galas, corporate events, or private parties at Mac-O-Chee Castle — castle venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
