From the reviews
Absolutely stunning Midwest "castle". I loved the history and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and loved what she was doing. The tour was a lot longer than expected, about 1.5 hours. Well worth the visit.
In August 2025, we visited the Joslyn Castle & Gardens in Omaha, Nebraska. This home is on the National Historic Register and it offers some inside tours. We walked around the exterior and in the gardens, and we enjoyed our self-directed tour.
My wife and I came down from Sioux City, IA, to Omaha to celebrate her birthday weekend back in late August. This castle looked like an interesting place to visit, so we decided to give it a try. Molly was a fantastic tour guide, and the Scottish style of architecture was beautiful.
Peg was a superlative tour guide with an exuberance of knowledge of the family and the castle's historical and cultural ramifications. The foundation has taken capacious and copious amounts of fervor to revitalize this epochal icon of the Midwest.
Getting married at Joslyn Castle & Gardens
A castle wedding is the once-in-a-lifetime, storybook kind — the grand staircase, the ballroom, the gardens and turrets your photos will live on forever. Castle weddings commonly run $10,000–$40,000+ depending on the date, guest count, and how much is included, so ask for a written quote for your season — Joslyn Castle & Gardens doesn’t publish a set price, and tiers move fast. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you’d actually get married — a ballroom that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you’ll want to walk the path your guests take from the gates to the ceremony to the reception. Second, bring your real questions: what’s included with the venue fee (tables, chairs, setup, teardown), the catering and bar policy, whether you can stay overnight on-site, the rain plan for a garden ceremony, and the music curfew. Fairytale dates at castle venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what’s open in your season before you leave.
