Here today for the 4p holiday tour at Fonthill. A great time to tour because you start in daylight but get the ambiance of the holiday lighted trees before finishing. The castle is amazing and well worth seeing. I want to come back during daytime hours to see more of the amazing tilework!
I’ve never been in a castle, so I didn’t know what to expect really. I was half expecting it to be blistering cold, but they had heaters everywhere so it was nice and toasty. Easy access to parking and plentiful, and visitor’s building had really cute gifts.
I don’t want to offer any spoilers but the fact that a place like this exists in Pennsylvania is one of many reasons why this state never ceases to amaze me. Please come and visit and learn the history of this castle. I highly recommend the meander hours where you can take as long as you like.
We were very impressed with the tour of Fonthill Castle! 😍 The castle showcases exceptional craftsmanship, and the home built is a beautiful reflection of Henry Mercer's work.
