The setting
“From the moment we walked in and met Cheryl - who is absolutely wonderful - to the unfortunate time we had to leave, we enjoyed every single thing about Chateau Douillett.”
“Immaculately clean and quiet with fresh linens and gorgeous views from the bed of slate roof, maple trees framing courtyard through historic pains.”
“My favorite spots were the dining room, which had an exquisite charm, and the marble gazebo outside, which was simply enchanting.”

Inside the castle
“So many little places to take photos as newlyweds as well, and a getting ready suite for both bride/bridesmaids and groom/groomsmen — both with so much beauty and charm.”
“The property is just stunning, I really enjoyed the outdoor courtyard space where I could quietly practice yoga among the gorgeous gardens, fountain, and birds chirping.”

From the reviews
We had the pleasure of staying at Chateau Douillett in May of 2024. My wife and I truly enjoyed it. Seeing and hearing about the history, not only about the building but area as well. Close by the Connecticut River and Forest Park, which we highly recommend, if time permits.
I recently had a photo shoot at the Château, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. Cheryl, who assisted us, was very sweet and accommodating throughout our time there. The place itself is absolutely beautiful, with marvelous features outside that make for stunning photography.
As a wedding planner, stylist, and floral designer I have had the pleasure of hosting several events and photoshoots at the Chateau, the property has been lovingly restored and is the perfect backdrop for your wedding or special event.
This is an incredibly lovely spot, a hidden gem in Springfield, MA. The care and love for the property shown by the owners is noticeable and gives the place such a charm, when it is already so charming!
Getting married at Chateau Douillett
A castle wedding is the once-in-a-lifetime, storybook kind — the grand staircase, the ballroom, the gardens and turrets your photos will live on forever. Castle weddings commonly run $10,000–$40,000+ depending on the date, guest count, and how much is included, so ask for a written quote for your season — Chateau Douillett doesn’t publish a set price, and tiers move fast. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you’d actually get married — a ballroom that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you’ll want to walk the path your guests take from the gates to the ceremony to the reception. Second, bring your real questions: what’s included with the venue fee (tables, chairs, setup, teardown), the catering and bar policy, whether you can stay overnight on-site, the rain plan for a garden ceremony, and the music curfew. Fairytale dates at castle venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what’s open in your season before you leave.
